My story so far…
Hi, we are Mac and Cheese. We came to the sanctuary after our owners could no longer care for us. Our mom cat had an accidental litter but did a good job of looking after us and so did the humans as we are very friendly boys. Thankfully our mommy cat has now been neutered so will be having no more babies! Once old enough, the humans tried to find homes for us but sadly after finding homes for our brothers and sisters, we were left and nobody wanted us!
We were brought here to the sanctuary and are now hoping to find a home of our very own together. We are both lovely and friendly boys who love fuss and attention. We enjoy being picked up and having cuddles when we are feeling calm, but equally enjoy running around playing with other other and lots of toys! We will play with the humans too, we especially like chasing the feather wand toys and trying to catch them.
Home I am looking for…
We are looking for a home with humans who will accept that we are very lively boys and may get into trouble sometimes! We are good boys, we are just very nosey and like to be involved in everything! So, we are looking for humans who will understand that we are still young and will give us all the attention, fuss and playtime that we could ever ask for!
We have mixed with other young and adult cats here so are very used to being around other cats. We could live in a home with other cats, but we may be a bit too much for some cats, so please do consider your current cat(s) temperament and happiness before applying to adopt us.
We could happily live with dogs who are used to cats. We may be a little nervous at first but will get used to them as long as they are friendly towards us.
As we are very friendly and playful boys, we could live with children, and we think we would actually enjoy a lively, family household with kids to run around and play with.
We could happily live as indoor only cats as long as our humans make sure we have lots of toys and enrichment to keep us entertained and happy. We could however also have safe access to outdoors once we are old enough- we would have to remain strictly indoors until we are at least 10 months old, to make sure we are mature enough to be safe outside.
Medical history…
We are very healthy boys and have no health concerns at all.
I (Cheese) did have an incident where I managed to spill some disinfectant and get it on my fur (Which made me green like Shrek!) Thankfully, the sanctuary only uses animal safe disinfectant, so as soon as they realised they gave me a bath to wash it off. I did go to the vets as I became a little lethargic afterwards and our carer was worried that I had ingested some of the disinfectant. I was given fluids through the ni8ght and thankfully was back to my normal, playful self by the next morning. I have had bloods taken and checked since to check for any damage caused, but luckily these came back fine.
Our carer wants us to make sure we tell you that you may need to ‘Mac and Cheese’ proof your house a little before adopting us to make sure we are kept safe. Our carer is happy to discuss this with any potential adopters, but she mainly means keeping food stored away (potentially purchasing child locks for food cupboards) and ALWAYS ensuring cleaning products are locked away and out of reach!
If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.
Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
