Volunteers

We are currently only accepting volunteer applications to help with our Dogs, Rabbits and Reception. If you feel that you would suit any of these areas, please make sure to specify which areas you would like to volunteer in.

Update 27/03/2024

Please note that we do not currently have any vacancies for voluteering opportunities on weekends; however we are still looking for volunteers to help around the sanctuary so if you are interested in volunteering on weekdays, please make sure to fill out our application form and send it to us!

Please read below what volunteering can look like in each section before sending us an application, to ensure you know what you will be expected to do.

We are always looking for volunteers to help here at the Sanctuary.  From helping with the animals, cleaning or odd jobs, there is always something to do.  If you could spare a regular few hours a week and would like to help, then please get in touch.

Please be advised all volunteers need to be over the age of 16 due to our insurance and up-to date Tetanus vaccination.

We are currently in need of volunteers for the following areas, when applying please specify which area of volunteering you are interested in so we can liaise with you effectively. Thank you.

Animal care:

  • Assisting staff with the day to day cleaning of all animal enclosures and surrounding areas.

  • Walking our rescue and boarding dogs in our enclosed, on site fields

  • Assisting with other additional duties including socialising, grooming etc…

    When applying for a voluntary role please also include which animals you are most interested in working with.

Gardening/general site upkeep

  • Helping with mowing, weeding and general maintenance of outdoor areas

  • Assisting with general upkeep such as sweeping, tidying etc…

Reception/admin

  • Answering our busy phone lines/emails and in person enquires/donations

  • Liaising with our boarding clients, both online and in person ( Confidence around dogs is required for this aspect of the role)

  • Dealing with our online boarding booking system for all of our boarding clients.

  • Helping keep our reception area clean and tidy

  • Assisting with updating our animal record database where needed

Fundraising

  • Helping out at events both on and off site such as open days etc…

  • Attending with a staff member or manning our Sanctuary stall at off site events

  • Helping think up new innovative ideas to help raise vital funds for our charity.
