I think I would like to have the option of going outside to explore if I want to in my next home, however I also think I could live happily as an indoor only cat as long as you make sure I have everything I need. If I will be going outside in my new home, I will need to be kept indoors for at least 8 weeks to allow me to settle in.

My story so far…

Hi, I’m Viennetta!

I came to the sanctuary as my owner was poorly and could no longer look after me. I settled right in and was a confident girly right away, introducing myself to everyone and asking for lots if tickles and cuddles.

My carer says I am a lovely girl and everyone falls in love with me immediately. I am very chatty as I like to make sure you know I am there, and give me the attention I need! I enjoy lots of cuddles, even a pick up cuddle sometimes, and especially enjoy sitting on laps for a snooze (and a cuddle)! Although, I will cover you with my white fur, you have been warned!

Even though I am an adult cat, I do still like to have a good play, especially with smelly catnip/ valerian toys or a feather wand. So, in my next home I would like my humans to buy me lots of toys to play with, and scratch posts/ cat trees to use as I love them too! Basically I love a lot of things, including humans and I hope that someone will fall in love with me and let me join their family. I promise I have lots of love to give!

Home I am looking for…

I have met a few other cats here at the sanctuary, and in my previous home. I can be okay with quieter cats who won’t invade my personal space, but I do panic and tell them off if they get to close or look at me funny! So, for my own happiness, I am asking for a home where I will be the only cat and can have everything to myself, including all the cuddles of course. I have been tested with dogs too, and was a bit wary so would much prefer to be the only pet in the home.

I am such a loving, friendly girl and adore everyone, so I would be fine to live with children. However, I don’t think I would enjoy lots of loud, noisy children so maybe a home with only one or two children (if younger) would suit me best. If the children in the home are older (10+) or the family is adult only, then the more people the better. More laps to choose from!

I am used to having the option of going outdoors in my last home, so would enjoy having that choice again in my forever home, however as I am a laid back girl, so carer thinks I would be fine living as an indoor only cat. This would be as long as I have enough cat furniture and toys to keep me entertained. A home with a secure catio or cat-proofed fencing would be a bonus!

Medical history…

I have no known medical concerns from while I was living in my previous home, and had the all clear from the sanctuary vet on arrival. However, when I was ready to go up onto the website (literally the day my carer was going to put me on), I began to have blood in my stools. I was put onto a bland, sensitive diet in hopes that it was just a stomach bug but sadly this didn’t help. I then had a stool sample sent off to be tested. Thankfully this came back showing that I had no major illnesses or viruses, but it did show that there was evidence of roundworms. I had been worm treated more than once since arriving at the sanctuary, but my carer told me sometimes cats have lots and lots of these horrible worms in our tummies and it can take a while to get rid of them, or we need a stronger worming treatment. I was treated using a strong worming treatment and my carer saw lots of these horrible worms in my stools afterwards. I have recently had another stool sample sent off to be tested and am now worm free yay!

I was also having a lot of hairballs around the same time (we are unsure if this was related to me being full of worms!), so I am currently on a supplement called Catmalt, which has helped and made me feel more comfortable without an excess of fur inside my tummy.

After all these added pressures on my little tummy, I am still having some loose stools and occasionally a small amount of blood. This may take a while to clear up as my tummy needs some time to heal. I am still eating a sensitive diet but my carer is hoping to slowly begin to wean me off this and back onto a normal diet soon.

Please don’t let this put you off adopting me, it just means that I may need to remain on a sensitive food for a while but hopefully will have no further issues, providing my parasite treatments are kept up to date. I am otherwise a healthy, young girl and am absolutely ready to move into my forever home!

If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.

Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
