My story so far…

Hello, my name is Yeti

I came into the sanctuary at the end of July after I was one of nine cats who were cruelly abandoned on the sanctuary premises. We were let loose from carriers and simply left behind late one afternoon. One of the staff noticed a few unfamiliar cats in the car park, so the CCTV footage was checked immediately. It showed a van pulling up and the cats being dumped out of carriers before the van drove away. It was a very unsettling and frightening experience for us. We didn’t know where we were or what was happening, and understandably, I was very scared. The team nearly caught me, but I ran off into the open bedding shed! I was eventually contained to safety and, a few days later, went into foster care with Becky, who works as a groomer on the sanctuary site and is also a close supporter of the sanctuary. I went into foster care alongside Kraken, another one of the nine cats who were abandoned with me.

I am only a young boy and I have shown that I am friendly and loving with people once I get brave enough to come out of hiding. I am just a little more wary of new people and not quite as confident with humans as Kraken is. It doesn’t take me too long to warm up to someone, though!

My foster mum describes me as a very sweet boy who loves a good fuss! I haven’t shown much interest in toys yet, but I absolutely love my food and can be a bit of a greedy monkey who will happily eat it all!

Home I am looking for…

I could live with sensible children aged 8+ who will understand and respect my boundaries.

I like being around other cats and need a cat friend in my new home please! I am currently in foster with Kraken. We could be related but due to the circumstances of how we were abandoned, the sanctuary has no knowledge of our background. It is believed I am slightly older than Kraken. We are currently spending a lot of time together in our foster home and get along well but we aren’t overly bonded. I would benefit from a cat friend so I could be rehomed with Kraken or go to a home with another cat friendly cat!

I would be more than happy being indoor only in a home with plenty of enrichment to keep me entertained. I could alternatively enjoy access to the outdoors after 8 weeks indoors settling in time.

If you think you could offer me the loving home I'm looking for and meet my rehoming requirements, please complete an adoption form.

Please note: I am currently in a foster home in Redditch, so arrangements would be made for suitable potential adopters to meet me at my foster home.

Medical history…

Please note: I have a bend in my tail which has been checked by the vet. This is likely to be either an old injury that has healed or a congenital deformity that I may have been born with. It does not appear to bother me, but it is something that will be worth keeping an eye on.

I am a healthy young boy with no current health concerns.

If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about my needs and the adoption policies before applying.

Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
