My story so far…
My owners change in cirmcumstances meant they had to surrender me to the Sanctuary. This was due to no fault of my own and my owner couldn’t say enough about what a loving dog I am!
I had been staying at the Sanctuary boarding kennels for a little while before my owner sadly had to give me up so I have been getting lots of love from the team of staff and volunteers.
Home I am looking for…
I am looking for my forever home where I can bring much joy to a home with my infectious waggy tail. I absolutley LOVE people!!! Although I can get a bit excited and jump up at first, my carers have been working on this with me so I now try keep all my paws on the floor to get my cuddles!
My carer says I am a super sweet girl who is mostly a gentle giant, except when I get my mad play and zoomy mode on then watch out as I have no brakes!! I could live with children 10+ years if they are used to big playful dogs like me that as I might get too excited and jump up or accidentely bump into them.
I did live with a cat in my previous home but I can get a bit excited around other cats and chase so I think a home without any cats in the future would be best for me.
I’ve recently been in season so I cannot be spayed (neutered) just yet and the vets advise to wait 10-12 weeks after a season to spay so I will be rehomed with a neuter contract (my carers can explain more about this). Because I am still entire I cannot be rehomed with other dogs at the moment but I could potentially live with another medium/ large size dog in the future that would play and chill with me.
Behaviour & Training
I do have some training under my belt but my carers say I stil need to master some of the basics (like keeping all my paws on the floor, loose lead walking and recall). Already since being at the Sanctuary I have been making lots of progress and my training is coming along well and with continued training in my new home I know I will be the bestest behaved girl when I’m older!
There are not many dogs that like big dogs, like me, at the Sanctuary so I have been going out with some staff members dogs instead. I am super playful, I love a good run about and playing tumble. However my intial manners when I meet dogs on lead needs some work my carer says as I can get a bit too excited and try to play straight away, sometimes I even jump on them while I’m on lead to make them play… Luckily the staff dogs I play with are very friendly and didnt mind too much but other dogs would not like it at all!
My health & Medical Information
Before coming to the Sanctuary it looks like I have had phantom pregnancies so I need to be carefully monitored before my spay to see if it happens again. Hopefully being neutered will stop anything like this happening again and I will be much happier. I’ve recently been in season so I cannot be spayed (neutered) just yet and the vets advise to wait 10-12 weeks after a season to spay (apprx July) so I will be rehomed with a neuter contract (my carers can explain more about this).
If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.
Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our animals to the right home for them.
