Our story so far…

I (Theodore) have recently returned to the sanctuary with my friend Dora. I was bonded with my rabbit friend Dora a few years ago here at the sanctuary.  Our guardian had a change in circumstances and also at the time my friend Dora was having behavioural aggression issues in the home. The difficult decision was made for us to live at the sanctuary together, until we can find our forever home. I (Theodore) am a soft, relaxed, and friendly rabbit. I am a French lop / Continental giant cross breed, so I am rather large in size! I am 5 years of age, and because of my breed, this means that I am an elderly gentleman. I (Dora) am quite a nervous rabbit. With respect for my boundaries I do like human attention but it is on my terms, and slow movements are needed around me so that I do not get scared. My carers and a couple of long-term sanctuary volunteers are working with me to improve my confidence with handling. I am progressing well. I (Dora) am a very inquisitive and lively Netherland Dwarf rabbit. I am 5 years of age.

I (Theodore) take everything in my stride. I enjoy human attention and lots of grooming time from my friend Dora. I also enjoy shredding up cardboard boxes, playing with toilet tubes and I love foraging around for dried herbs that are hidden amongst my variety of toys.

I (Dora) am a lovely girl. I enjoy watching what my carers are doing, and I like to observe them cleaning out my enclosure. I hop over and sit watching my carers contently. I also enjoy grooming my friend Theodore. I play in cardboard boxes, chew up sea grass mats, throw toilet tubes around, and like foraging around for dried herbs hidden away in hay and toys. This is all very interesting!

Dora and Theodore are looking for their forever home together. They need a home where people are experienced with caring for nervous rabbits due to Dora’s nervous nature.

Theodore is being monitored for joint pain at the moment. For detailed information about this please contact our sanctuary and we’ll be happy to have a chat with you.

We could live with children that are 12 plus years

For more information please contact the sanctuary and we can give you more details about Dora and Theodore and the type of home that they require.
