Hi there!

I’m Bebe

I came to the sanctuary in 2022, along with a few others from the same household, with very long and matted fur.

After a really good grooming session, my carers noticed that I had a lot of health issues; dry eye, some rotting teeth, irritated skin and mammary tumours.

We then went to the vets and they said that I would need at least 4 major surgeries, because there was also abnormalities with my heart.

After a scan it had turned out that I had an enlarged heart.

All the more to love you with!

Because of my numerous health issues, along with my older age, even one surgery was a big risk.

So the decision was made for me to receive treatment for the things that were possible, my eyes and skin, and provide me with medication to keep me comfortable.

I’ve been staying in foster care with one of my carers because the vets said that I wouldn’t live past a couple months.

Neutering became the only option to remedy it. Because I had been on my new medication and was a lot stronger than I had been before, I made it through the surgery well!

Not long after being fostered, my carer noticed something else causing me discomfort, which turned out to be pyometra, an infection of the womb on unspayed females.

Several months since then and I’ve been doing great! I’m on several different medications for my health issues, however blood tests have shown that they are now affecting my kidneys. But I can’t not have them since they’ve been keeping me comfortable.

To help fund my medication bills, that keep me going and happy.

So I don’t have to think about how my life was before making it to my Sanctuary, and learning what true love is.

To give me more time to tell my carers that they haven’t realised their hands have stopped giving me fuss!

And so that I can keep on getting all the love and attention that I deserve in the time that I have left.
