My story so far…
Hello, my name is Oliver!
I arrived at the sanctuary in July after my owner brought me in, pretending that I was a stray. The sanctuary team soon discovered that this wasn’t the case and that the lady was actually my owner. Unfortunately, due to difficult circumstances, I was sadly abandoned and the team were initially left with very little information about me, other than the details on my microchip.
The sanctuary renamed me Oliver, which they think suits me so much better! Thankfully, my former owner later got back in touch and provided the team with more information about me, including my background and the sort of home I had been used to. I had been with my owner since I was a young kitten, so it was a big change for me.
I settled in really well at the sanctuary and quickly showed everyone what a sweet and cuddly boy I am! I absolutely love being close to my humans and will happily cling onto you like a little monkey when I’m after cuddles. I’m a very loving boy who enjoys human company, although my carer thinks I can be a little sensitive at times and appreciate some comfort and reassurance too.
I’m also a big fan of my food and treats! I’m an inquisitive boy and love watching what my humans are up to, as well as keeping an eye on everything happening outside. There’s always something interesting to see!
Home I am looking for…
I could live with sensible children aged 6+.
I would be best suited to a home with no other cats for now. I have been mixed with a few cats here at the sanctuary and can get a little grumpy and jelous around them. I have given mixed signals as it seems like I may be okay at times but then have more grumpy moments and would much prefer all the attention to myself. Myabe in the future I would be okay to live with another cat but for now I want to be an only cat please.
I have also met one of the friendly dogs at the sanctuary. While I was a little wary at first, I was very curious and not overly bothered by their presence. With sensible introductions, I could adapt well to sharing a home with a calm, cat-friendly dog.
Once I have settled into my new home, I would love to have outdoor access again. To help me settle safely, I will need to be kept strictly indoors for at least 8 weeks while I build a bond with my new family and become familiar with my surroundings. During this time, care should be taken around doors leading directly outside, as I may be tempted to slip out before I'm ready.
Alternatively a large catio or a securely cat-proofed garden would provide a safe alternative for me to enjoy the outdoors

Diet..
I am currently fed scrumbles adult wet and dry food. It is recommended that I stay on the current food I am on at least whilst I settle in my new home.
