Our story so far…

We are a brother and sister duo who love each other very much, and want to find a home together. We were brought here to the sanctuary after sadly being found abandoned in a box together, right next to a river. We were around 6/7 months at the time, and were very lucky to be found by kind people who took us somewhere safe.

We were initially very nervous, but only for a few days and then we came right out of our shells! Our carer tells us she wishes we could tell her where we came from and how we ended up in that box all alone, and we really wish we could tell her too! But if we’re honest, we are just so glad to finally be safe and not have to be worried anymore. We have been shown so much love since arriving here and have had all of our vet work done. We are now ready to continue on our journey to our forever home, to put our past behind us and live our best life together!

We are very loving little babies. We say little as there are other cats here of a similar age to us, but they are very tall and lanky haha! We look tiny compared to them! Anyway, we can still be a little nervous to begin with, especially when moving into a new environment- we recently moved out of the isolation pens here at the sanctuary and moved into the big main cattery. It was very daunting as we had gotten used to our quiet isolation pen, so we went back to being scared hidey babies for a while. It took s a few weeks to want to come out of our pen and explore, but we now love to come out for a play and run around, and to have lots of cuddles and fusses of course! Our adopters will need to be aware that we may hide away for a while when we first come home, and we need to be given time, patience and understanding before we will begin to trust you and feel comfortable. After what we have been through, sadly we won’t trust any human or new environment straight away. I (Beau) am usually the one who is brave enough to investigate first, whereas my sister Raine will hang back and watch me check for danger before she comes out. I don’t mind this as I want to protect her and keep her safe, she is my little sister after all.

Home we are looking for…

Due to our nervous nature, we are looking for an indoor only home. Although we can seem quite confident once we feel comfortable and settled, we can still be very wary around sudden movements and loud, scary noises, so our carer thinks that going outside and all the dangers/ scary things that come with that would be too much for us, and it is the safest option for us to stay indoors. Once we have settled in, a secure catio in a garden would be a lovely way to give us safe, outdoor access, but this is not essential. As we will be indoor cats, our new adopters will need to make sure that we have lots of enrichment in our home to keep us occupied and entertained. We will need lots of toys, cat furniture, puzzle feeders, treat toys etc that will give us lots to do and prevent us from becoming bored. We are still only young and very playful, we love to have a play with toys and run around chasing each other.

We have mixed with some other cats here at the sanctuary, and are mainly okay with them, although can be quite wary and scared, especially my sister. As we are young and playful, quiet and older cats probably wouldn’t appreciate us. As we are quite nervous, we would prefer not to live with any dogs, and would like to live in either an adult only home or a home where there are no young children.

Medical history…

We are young, healthy cats with no known health issues or concerns.

If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.

Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
