My story so far…

Hi, my name is Sapphire.

I came to the sanctuary in September last year along with my grown up kittens, Lilo and Stitch. We arrived in a taped-up cardboard box, and it was difficult for the sanctuary team to understand our background. The man who brought us in explained that he had no home and no other option, so it’s likely we had been living as strays.

I was extremely nervous and frightened when I arrived and just wanted to hide away. When the box was opened, it was clear that I was heavily pregnant. We were all suffering from fleas and wormy bellies, so we were treated for parasites straight away.

Not long after arriving, I went into labour, but sadly it was very complicated. My kittens were born prematurely and extremely tiny, and I had to have an emergency C-section. I gave birth to four kittens in total. Heartbreakingly, two passed away on the day they were born. My remaining two kittens were hand-reared, as I showed no interest in caring for them, but sadly they later passed away as well.

I have been through a lot, and my carers say I am incredibly brave and have come such a long way from the scared girl I once was. Over the last few months, I’ve grown in confidence and really started to come out of my shell. I can still be wary at times, but once I feel comfortable with you, I’m a very loving girl who will happily enjoy endless fuss and affection.

I’m also very playful and love playing with my toys whether I’m playing on my own or interacting with my humans. I’m a curious, inquisitive girl who likes to explore what’s going on around me. I can be quite vocal too. I will happily let you know when I want attention, and I am especially good at shouting when it’s dinner time!

Home I am looking for…

I am looking for a relaxed, calm home environment. I could live with sensible older children aged 13+ who understand and respect cats and their boundaries.

At the sanctuary, I have mixed well with other cats and have regular time outside my pen with six other cats and kittens, including my own kittens, Lilo and Stitch. Stitch is particularly attached to me and enjoys staying close. While I do value my own space, I also enjoy his company, playing together and grooming him. For this reason, I could be rehomed with Lilo and Stitch if the right home came along.

I would like a home with another calm, friendly indoor cat for companionship. However, I would not cope well with a very lively or boisterous cat.

Due to my temperament I am looking for an indoor-only home with plenty of space, lots of cat furniture, toys and enrichment to keep me happy! A home with a catio or a fully cat-proofed garden would be a lovely bonus, though it isn’t essential.

Please enquire if you think you could provide me with a suitable loving forever home!

Medical history…

I am a healthy young girl and currently have no known health issues or concerns.

Please note- Please bear with us, we are a small team and the cat carers deal with rehoming enquiries on top of caring for the cats. If you are successful we will be in touch as soon as possible. Please be aware we complete our rehoming checks prior to arranging any meets.

If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.

Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
