My story so far…
Hi I'm Tommy
I came to the sanctuary after I was found as an entire stray from a small colony of cats. I had been a stray for quite some time.
Considering this, I adjusted well coming into the sanctuary, enjoying the comforts and proper regular meals I had not had whilst living rough on the streets.
I am such a sweet friendly boy. I love affection and often rub around my carers legs.
I am a big foodie still and I am thinking about my next meal a lot which is normal for most cats like me that have lived as strays for a while. My carer says this should calm down once I am in a home environment and will advise my potential adopters on how to teach me out of any naughty habits around food.
Potential adopters will need to be aware I am not the best at travelling in a carrier as I get stressed out and can hurt my nose trying to escape out. I will need a large spacious secure carrier for travelling home and to vet appointments.
Home I am looking for…
I would be fine living with slightly older children 10+
I have met some of the cats here at the sanctuary and I am a good boy. I am clearly very used to being around cats and I will say hello but I mostly just ignore them. I am not too keen if they get in my face too much and will give them a little telling off. I could happily live with a more placid gentle cat as long as they would welcome me and give me my space.
I am not keen on dogs as they are a bit too scary to me so I would prefer not to live with one.
I would need safe outdoor access after a settling in period of at least 8 weeks indoors. This is to make sure I am settled in my home and bonded with my new humans before being allowed outdoors.
Home and Road/environmental checks apply.
(Applicants will ONLY be contacted if you are a suitable match. Please be aware we complete our rehoming checks prior to arranging any meets)
Diet...
I am fed a mix of wet and dry food- Scrumbles dry and a mix of Blink/applaws wet food.
I need to conitnue on a good quality diet.
Medical history…
I had a dental with extractions when I first came to the sanctuary in February.
I do occasionally get a weepy left eye which my carer will bathe for me. This is likely to be caused by being a potential cat flu carrier. I have not shown any other symptoms of cat flu though. This will just need regular bathing unless I get further issues.
To note- I have a slight deformity to my back left paw. My one end toe curls over the top. This may have been something I was born with or could have been caused by a past injury. It doesnt seem to bother me and the vets have advised to monitor it and keep the nail clipped down. My carer gave me a nickname Tommy Toe because of it!
If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.
Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
