My story so far…

Hello, my name is Enola

I arrived at the sanctuary in August with my four kittens, who were around 4 weeks old at the time. A lady had reached out to the sanctuary after hearing that I was estimated to be on my 5th litter!!! She was able to get me and my kittens safely into a carrier and bring us to the sanctuary.

My kittens were a little spicy at first, but it only took our carer a few days before they stopped hissing and spitting and were happy to be handled. I was a little different, though! I made it very clear that I wasn't comfortable being touched. I wasn't hiding away or overly scared, I just didn't want any physical interaction.

Where I came from, I would regularly venture back into the same lady's garden to have my kittens. She would keep an eye on me and make sure I was fed. I would even wander into her house and sit on her sofa, but I still wouldn't allow any physical contact. I'm used to living outdoors and, while I'm quite happy being around people and accepting food, I simply prefer to keep my paws to myself!

I've really relaxed and settled at the sanctuary, especially since finishing nursing my kittens and having some time to myself. I've also been spayed now, so that's the end of any more surprise litters for me!

I will happily approach my carer to take a treat from her hand, especially a Lick-e-Lix! I also confidently wait by the door for the humans to bring my food. They are clearly my servants!

I do need humans, even if I don't want them touching me. They can admire my cute little face from a distance and appreciate that I'm just as beautiful and deserving of a loving home as any other cat.

In a home, I may eventually decide that I quite like a fuss, given enough time, but I'm really not sure. Anyone who adopts me must want me for who I am now and not expect me to become a different cat. If I do decide that physical affection is something I enjoy, that would be a lovely bonus!

I know some people may overlook me because I'm not one for fuss and cuddles, but I promise I'm not asking for much. I would love a cosy home where I can venture out into a garden for my little adventures before coming back inside for a lovely sleep in my own bed or on the sofa near you (but not necessarily right next to you!).

Wouldn't it be just as rewarding to give a home to a cat who needs one for who they are, rather than what we might traditionally expect from a pet cat? ❤️

Home I am looking for…

I need an ADULT only home. Ideally with cat experienced owners.

I have met a few of the cats here at the santuary and I dont seem phased at all and It shows I am used to being around other cats. I could live with other cat friendly cats and may find a home with other cats would be much better suited to me.

I could possible live with a calm cat friendly dog.

Once I have settled into my new home, I do need to have outdoor access again. To help me settle safely, I will need to be kept strictly indoors for at least 8 weeks while I become familiar with my surroundings and humans. During this time, care should be taken around doors leading directly outside, as I may be tempted to slip out before I'm ready. I would need a room of my own where I can settle in peace, with everything I need and without people coming and going all the time. As I become more comfortable, I could gradually be given access to other parts of the house, allowing me to venture out when I feel ready. I would always need to have my own space to retreat back to whenever I want some peace and quiet.

If you think you could offer me the type of home I'm looking for and meet my rehoming requirements, please complete an adoption form.

Home and road/environmental checks apply.

Medical history…

I have had a dental to remove a few teeth.

I am a healthy girl with no health concerns.
