About Me
Me and my brother Ziggy came to the Sanctuary together, although we are siblings we are quite different as you can see and we are looking for seperate homes!
The world is so exciting to me and I would love to go on adventures and have fun with my new family. Sometimes I can get a bit overexcited and can jump up and have cheeky monkey moments but I am just a young boy after all. My carers here at the sanctuary say I am doing amazing since starting my training and I am super eager to learn and love to please you!
I would love a home with someone that can continue my training and be active with me! My carers say I am a dog trainer’s dream and will try my paw at anything asked of me.
Sometimes I can struggle to control my instincts and my prey/chase drive is quite strong so I definitely couldn’t live in a home with cats or any other small animals.
In my last home I was around children 8yrs + but I can be a bit boisterous and knock into them so I would probably be best with children 12yrs+, but my carers would consider 8yrs+ if they are used to being around big young bouncy dogs like me.
While I settle into my new home I would need someone around most of the day, but with training and routine I could be left for short periods and build this slowly.
I just love life and can’t wait for my next adventure, hopefully it is with you <3
Home I am looking for…
Active home that can meet my exercise and training needs as I am a young, intelligent, very active dog!
I can be rehomed by myself or with another friendly dog that is medium sized and up (I don’t listen well to little dogs and may annoy them or push them over!)
I could live with kids 12yrs+ or 8yrs+ if they are used to large bouncy dogs
I’m very bouncy and can jump really high! I would be happy if I do have a fun garden to zoom in but it would need to be very secure with 6ft+ fencing or I would need supervision. I don’t typically try to jump out or anything but if I saw a fluffy squirrel or other critter I probably wouldn’t think, I’d just jump!
To begin with I need someone home most of the time while I am settling in but with training I should be fine to be left for up to 4hrs built up over time.
Behaviour & Health
My carers have trained me to walk well with loose lead training and I must be kept on a lead in public spaces
My new adopters would need to continue using positive reinforcement training with me
Although I walk well on lead with my training, I do get excited and forget sometimes and as I am a bouncy boy I need a strong handler
I have a very strong prey drive and must be kept on lead out & about in public spaces and on a short lead attatched to a secure harness & collar if ever passing livestock. (Thankfully with my carers training at the Sanctuary I am loads better, I’m now much more toy focused and my drive to chase has been re-directed. With continued training in the home I will just continue to thrive!!!)
I am still a bit young to be castrated so I will be rehomed with a neuter contract
Things to Note
Ronnie is available to Foster-to-Adopt
Sometimes dogs that come into our care may need some additional support while they settle into their new home, or they may have some veterinary treatment we are completing before they can be adopted or sometimes potential adopter needs support from our team before they are ready to commit. Foster to adopt is one way we try and set our dogs up for success in their new homes by making sure both they and their hopeful adopters are getting the support they need and allows a trial period before committing to adopting as well as reducing the time they are waiting in kennels.
We base everything on a individual dog & adopter basis and our team is happy to talk to you about what support we can offer and a timeline for adoption following a successful application.
